*** Visitors very welcome. Please use the contact form on this site to tell us that you plan to come along. ***
Tony and Lynn Churchill will be visiting our club to tell us about their book Watch Out, written for and with school-aged children. Many Rotary clubs across our Rotary District are supporting this project, and we will hear how it is being used in schools to teach children about everyday dangers.
“Lynn and I founded “OK” Our Kids over 6 years ago and we became a Community Interest Company in June last year.
Lynn worked as a PA to CEO’s and has a Diploma in teaching.
I’m an artist but worked for Thames valley Police for over 6 years. It was in my role as a Police Community Support Officer that I saw a shortage of reading material around Children’s safety.
We were never able to have children of our own so thought we would put our efforts into helping other peoples Children.
We have developed the AWESOME “Watch Out” book, a Child’s guide to everyday dangers.
Our aim is to get a book to EVERY primary school child in the UK.
We look forward to meeting your members and demonstrating our passion, commitment and desire to empower young children throughout the UK.”
From the book – an endorsement from Francis Habgood, Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police:
“We all have a responsibility to keep the most vulnerable in our society safe from harm. Ensuring that children are aware of the potential dangers and are able to make healthy choices will help to keep them safe. Too often people shy away for fear of causing alarm, but this book covers the different topics that will aid those discussions and I am delighted to offer my support.”
