We had a great time at the Cowley Road Carnival on Sunday 5th July – our first time at the carnival. The weather was great, we had a good spot just outside the Restore garden on Manzil way and we were with the other charity and community groups for the day.
Eight club members were there, some of us for the full day, and we spoke to many visitors to the carnival.
There were an estimated 45,000 visitors to the carnival and 800 people took part in the parade. We invited people to enter a free draw for an Amazon voucher or to have a go at our favourite game of Splat the Rat. We borrowed the Rotary in the Thames Valley feather flags so we could be seen from a distance and although we were a little worried at some points, they didn’t blow away in the wind!
All lots of fun and we are keen to return next year.
