Helping out at the Blenheim Fun Run again

This year the 5K and 10K runs through the lovely grounds of Blenheim Palace were organised by Oxford Isis Rotary. A few of our club members joined in for the morning, helping out with the marshalling.

Carol was directing traffic to the car parks as the runners and their supporters came onto site: over 500 runners meant a lot of cars.

“It was a lovely clear day (if a little cold), but my dog Amber and I enjoyed the fresh air. Most runners left after collecting their medals, and then the volunteers were asked to tidy up and litter pick until the last runner crossed the line. Everyone of course stopped to cheer her across the line. I really enjoyed the morning, which raised funds for Restore, a mental health charity that works across Oxfordshire and that our club has supported in the past.”
